Respectfully, for a beginner to truly be successful, the ‘Be Patient’ step should be at Step 3, before planting, while including more instruction for establishing the bacterial balance of the tank through methods such as dark start, used substrate/filter media, or starter bacteria. When I was new to the hobby, I used to get so frustrated watching videos of pro aquascapers building gorgeous scapes that seemed to thrive right away. While I constantly battled algae and dying plants in my newly setup tanks. But when I reset my expectation to starting a tank over two or three months, using dark start and slowly getting the system running and balanced, I really started to get similar results to what pros like Green Aqua get.

I don't know about "perfect" but it did have some good pointers on how to get started. I'd say if someone only watched this one video on how to start their first aquascape they'd be missing out on a number of pretty essential points

Hello. Nice guide. However, there is no information about fertilizing this aquarium at the start. Maybe you can make a video about starting an aquarium and fertilizing it with Amazonia substrate, since you have so many tanks there. Greetings from Poland 😊

I loved this video and appreciate you guys taking the time out of make this.

But can you please also make a video on short term and long term maintenance? What to expect in the first week of starting this aquarium? How to clean it, how to use suction to clean while not uprooting the plants, how to trim it, etc. Thank you

I would love to hear the amount of and frequency of water changes in the first month. Also, tablet and liquid fertilizer frequency. I have watched you for 5 years now and have found you to be an encyclopedia of knowledge for our hobby/profession. ❤ you guys.
