I Interacted With A Ball Python | The Smallest African Python

My very good friend, Presha Soogrim, a fellow environmental educator (specialising in marine education) and a staunch voice for the reptiles, amphibians, and all the small and often ignored organisms in between, introduced me to the wonderful snakes 🐍 of Africa at the uShaka Marine World in Durban, South Africa.

In my hands is the near-threatened ball python, the smallest of the African pythons, mainly found in the grasslands, scrublands, and open forests of West and Central Africa.

The name 'ball python' stems from the snake's tendency to coil up into a tight ball when threatened or disturbed.
