It's funny that DC had to convince people during a law suit that Captain Marvel was a ripoff and now they have to convince the readers that he's different enough to warrant his own comic.

Captain Marvel was so popular that Superman reversed the trend of copying and starting copying from Captain Marvel/Shazam. Flight, Bald headed scientist, brawn vs brains, girl version, evil doppelganger, "family", true invulnerability, and strenght feats were all signature
Captian Marvel things. Superman followed suit as CM outsold him. Some of the best things you like about Superman, you have to thank SHAZAM for.

3:39 Correct, that is where this case should have ended.  Just because a company has money, doesn't mean they should be allowed to destroy someone's business like this.
Monopolies are illegal in America.   Stop trying to destroy creativity, and the free market.

I remember watching the Shazam serial as a kid with my comic book nerd of a grandpa and I STILL have the VHS tapes on my shelf ;)

WHIZ Comics #2 debuted on December 1st, 1939. Back in those days, comics usually came out on stand before their cover dates.

An important point that was left out was that DC probably needed that $400k in 1953, and Fawcett could spare it. In 1946 a man named Tom McCahill approached Fawcett's flagship Mechanix Illustrated with a piece he had written on his own 1946 Ford; they agreed to publish it and any others he could write (he borrowed a Buick from GM with his new press card under the guise of just wanting to take pictures in better locations than the dispatch yard) and America's first magazine road tests were born, rocketing MI ahead of its' competitors Popular Science and Popular Mechanix. "Uncle" Tom McCahill was the country's #1 auto expert in the '50s and '60s. Fawcett was also one of the first American paperback publishers. National Comics *only* published comics, and the Wertham book had just come out.

I'd like to see Cavill's Superman show up in the Shazam movie. There's an animated short film that has both of them, and shows the relationship between the two characters, while also acting as an origin story for the Shazam. Superman could act as a sort of father figure to the character. Since they're shoving Batman into everything into the DCEU, it'd be cool to see Superman get a moment, as well.

Shazam is awesome, they should make a video game for Shazam, that would be awesome.
Also he is one of the most powerful Superheores of DC, that can stand a good fight against Superman, but they underestimate him as always.

NerdSync should really make a vídeo about Ma Hunkle, the Red Tornado. AKA, the first female superhero.

For those of you who hate that DC changed his name to Shazam In the new 52 relaunch since then in Earth-5 he is still officially known as captain marvel (: I know it's not in the main universe but it's still in continuity somewhere right?

I'll never get over his death by Superman's heat vision which he was invulnerable before.

If his name is Shazam now, doesn't he transform every time he introduces himself?
