Quite charming, excellent performance. Good compromise, the songs in German, the spoken words in the native language. One has succeeded to convey the Viennese atmosphere to a quite different place. This proves that it can be possible to be modern and and creative without giving up the original concept.
Interesting for me as German who has seen many performances, that the audience reacts differently to humour than in Europe, especially in the scene when Alfred has to go to prison. Different also the passionate kiss between Rosalinde and Alfred, non European (but it's O.K.). In our performances Rosalinde is mostly inclined to get rid of Alfred. Good idea the forthcoming relationship between Alfred and Adele.
Last but not least, many thanks to the conductor and the musicians.
