ALF follows the adventures of Gordon Shumway, a furry, wise-cracking alien from the planet Melmac who crash lands into the garage of the Tanner family. The Tanners offer him a home and give him the nickname ALF, short for “Alien Life Form.” Created by Tom Patchett (The Carol Burnett Show) and Paul Fusco (who also performed as ALF), the half-hour sitcom rose to popularity in the late 1980s, cementing itself in the pop culture zeitgeist.

The mini boom box was a tape and CD combo. One of the few shows of the 80's that ever showed a CD player of any kind. To those of you who don't know, the Compact Disc was introduced in Japan in 1982, then in the US in 1983. And they were expensive as hell in their early days, one reason why they took a while to catch on.
