Amazing....we were in the same hotel as you at the same time. Arrived on the monday to everyones alarms going off on their phones. Spent most of the wednesday night looking out the window. Got drenched on Hagrids on the wednesday morning.
Cool to be there from the UK during that week. Got to see the rocket launch too.

That pool was incredible - it looked like the sea!!
Did you notice if there was bark around the plants in the bit thay smelt? That often smells like poo/sick - its horrible! 😂

We had 2 days locked in during the hurricane in 2022. The staff at Coronado springs were outstanding. Kept the kids entertained, brought us care packages etc. sweets that weren’t getting used for MNSSHP were bagged up and dished out as well. They also made one of the main convention rooms a cinema for 2 days. It turned out a good experience. And we still had 2 parks days when things cleared up. Hope you guys had a great Christmas!

One reason that you can really "feel" the hurricanes because of the change in air pressure. The rain stopping and starting are the bands off the storm itself. Being in the eye of the storm is so surreal.

Growing up there is pretty fun, esp bc of the temperature change. Have a party and hunker down! Keep your property and home upkept throughout the year, get plywood, and trim your trees. I don't recommend living near the ocean unless you are ok with getting water in your house. I also lived in CO where wildfires are prevalent. Truth - It's the cost of living in paradise.
