In September of 2021 , the employees of the NCDA&CS Veterinary Division’s animal disease diagnostic laboratory moved out of the Rollins lab in Raleigh. Getting everything from the Rollins lab to the new Steve Troxler Agricultural Sciences Center took a thorough plan of phases and “movement choreography,” especially since the lab never paused operations and remained functional for testing during the multiday process.
During the planning, packing and moving, the lab not only remained operational but also dealt with other pressures on the staff. Keeping the lab running during the planning, packing and moving required employees to come in early, stay late and work weekends. For all their hard work, the employees were recognized with the department's Accomplishment in Team Excellence Award.
This video shows a brief glimpse at the last equipment and supplies were moved out of the Rollins Laboratory.
