As a German who loved watching 'Ik bin einen Duel Runner', I also had that calendar as a child but it only contained random (and really bad) cards D:
But it also had Dark Paladin which is nice

I got the Kuriboh advent calendar for Christmas in 2019.

I wrote a letter from myself in November 2019 to myself in November 2022, and one of the things I mentioned is how confused I was to get a gift and be told to open it on December 1st. No earlier or later. I’m my letter I was like “wtf does that mean???”

Now I know, it’s an advent calendar. Makes perfect sense.

theres no reason not to print the same product every year but with different alt art so you can tell which year the card is from. the only thing stopping them is themselves.
