Texas teacher fired after giving students assignment with offensive and racial slurs

Sad to say...this has been going on for a very long time. I have first hand knowledge. I was enrolled in San Antonio Independent School district from 6th grade to graduation in 1980. We had sport coaches slash history, government and science teachers that got a kick out of walking into class handing out job application that were directed to black and brown kids that were totally racist in nature. I love my home state but knowing that even after all these years things in public schools have gotten worse...

LEARNING about it is NOT the same thing as DOING IT.

Even in the 70's, teachers here in Texas taught us race issues in history class, when it was appropriate to the subject matter in the text books or films we were watching on it.

If you don't TEACH, kids CANNOT LEARN. IF THEY DON'T WILL NOT THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND, THEY WILL REPEAT HISTORY!!

And if they have questions and you aren't allowed to answer, then WHY teach?
