Thank you for the plausible presentation and details. I considered GPS but I felt it was a cipher type solution, and it would have been a cipher to get to the GPS numbers and this solve seems to be "messing with the poem". Not to sound like sour grapes, but I was a little disappointed in the area. I would still entertain other solutions that included a finder?
Thank you all who made this possible and contributed your time. Maybe this will give the family closure.

This looks very plausible. could you see any mountains from the spot?

"There's 10 billion blazes out there. So you have to start with the first clue and let it take you to the Blaze." -ff

If using latitude and longitude with degrees and decimal minutes, with one decimal place for longitude, we have:

(360*60)*(360*600) = 4.7 Billion possible coordinate points

Relatively close to 10 billion.

Would you be so kind as to tell me the name of the music you used for this video. I'm interested in the electronic instrumental music. Thanks for your consideration.

How is not using 8 within “wATEr” reconciled?

Where are the “heavy loads” and “water high”?

I WAS READING an old western about some treasure hunters and one of the guys in the book took out a machete and hacked a cactus to make a location marker on the cactus. And he said " I'll blaze this cactus ". Blaze was a word used in the old west, and it meant to mark something. Well it looked like a couple of those trees were blazed. Do you think thats what Forest meant when he wrote "blaze" in the poem?

Kpro, contact your source and get a pic of the treasure at that spot. It’s that simple. Why would the finder be opposed to that? It would in no way reveal his identity. Surely he snapped a shot when he walked upon the treasure.

You can't get 4 out of "effort" without getting 8 out of

You need a pic of the treasure at that spot when it was found which the finder would obviously have. Without it, this does not really prove anything. It’s clever and interesting but certainly not conclusive.

The finder wrote on the article that he would be back to answer questions. BUT NOT THAT ONE.

Where the melting water seemingly stops then journeys down into the canyon. The water then goes into the home of brown from below. Now travel to the seemingly never ending winds of switchbacks but ends at the end, townsend. Up from there is a dam constructed by man. You are now almost in a place where no man has gone before, and you have gone boldly. To boldly go where no man has gone before. Look down the stream from the dam and you will find the enterprise. That white object in the stars.

Did the Major say in the Appalachian mountains; or just the appellations.
Did he hide it in 9 nouns?
Mine are anything that is preceded by the... canyon, home, meek, end, blaze, chest, answer, cold, wood, I do not count the gold, as that is the end and not a clue, imo.
What if the Major could hide another treasure in the appellations?
Finders take little brown parcel made of wood office.
Translates to Wood wood wood wood wood wood wood.
Or: Punk member Douglas leaving group Primeval Forest.?
Wood wood wood wood wood wood.
It is easier if I use other words as well as wood. Try it.
All words/synonyms on Word Hippo App.
Just reaching for the stars, fun and imo only.

That's Fab, and to celebrate not being able to be Sued I have hidden a treasure and written a poem !
Forrest treasure Number 2
The hidden treasure, here is the clue...
Go alone and unprepared, take off your clothes and don't be scared
begin it where white waters boil and take it in the rapids turmoil.
If you avoid the big landmine, take off your boots and start to climb
Rappel across the power line and go right past the Hazard sign
From there you'll find a scary ledge, be brave and jump to the tiny hedge.
If you survive the massive fall, look out for Grizzly avoid the Maul.
Still alive but with no skin, don't forget to take a swim
The waters hot and full of smoke, hold your breath or else you'll choke.
so why is it that you must risk the deadly cold and boiling Lava,
the answer you already know, just stay at home unless you'd rather...
PS: I Hope no-one dies trying to find it

I wish we knew what makes the treasures location special to FF

It's a really clever solve but I don't think the right one. The right one would line up with everything Forrest has ever said. It will have the big picture (why he wanted to die there), and the clues being connected.

AWESOME RIGHT OR WRONG... I LOVED WATCHING IT, AND I HOPE YOU BOTH ARE RIGHT... I HAVE ONE IMPORTANT QUESTION: On your way hiking to the Chest location did you hummm your song, "IT'S THE K-PRO AND COW POW-WOW, K-PRO-PRO POW WOW...." You know the one... :-)

Does your source claim to have a connection with the finder or say his solve has been confirmed by the finder?

What quadrangle map did you use that Forrest talked about in tftw that was necessary to figure out his special location.

I would like to know more about HOW the drawing on the left, matches up with the map on the right. Could the left be plopped onto the map on the right so we could see how FF was trying to draw it. It is directionally accurate. Meaning up is North, and Pocket Lake is the South West point on the map? I don't see how his drawn map matches up with the real map... Need it dropped onto the map to see it easier.
