Yes, we have senators in Canada but we don't vote for them, they are appointed... usually as a favour and most are old. Our representation in our provincial government are MPP-- Member of Provincial Parliament. Our federal representatives are MP-- Member of Parliament. The MPP/MPs that are chosen to lead departments like Education, Health, Transportation, are called Ministers.
