Man, this game was crazy. I can’t believe they decided to give Mario cancer as a narrative tool, but it really paid off here. The buildup towards the end when he dons his iconic overalls was exciting sure, and the scenes prior to the finale with his new friends that reminded him that he doesn’t have to bear his burdens alone was touching. But here, in the halfway point of this final dungeon really hits you where it hurts. Watching his greatest allies in Luigi, Wario, and Yoshi come back in his hour of need, even after everything they’ve been through, made me really emotional. These legends coming together one last time to face seemingly impossible odds. It shows that they are all doing this not For Face, but perhaps For Faith. Maybe not in themselves, maybe not even in Mario, but for their futures. Even if they made mistakes in their pasts they deserve to look forward and give themselves that second chance, because—well, they are full of wealth. These four truly are The Invaluable.

What a beautiful way to end a games story the way how despite their differences the four decide to work together to stop a greater threat

I especially loved wario's character arc where he has been nothing but greedy his entire life but when the only person he cared for waluigi died and was trapped in a ghost room wario decided to help the mario bros and yoshi to stop bowser and break the spell
