The Elite Standard has been the bar for over a decade and now NERF has decided to raise the bar with the N Series.

Thanks to Hasbro for inviting me to the launch event as well as sending me this care package.

These all look truly awful. They look like nerf knockoff blasters circa 2015. And the fact that they went to new darts and i cant use any of my current bag of hundreds of darts means i have zero interest. The last few years have been garbage for nerf and now this feels like one last "fuck you" from hasbro.

Yes.

This just solidified they really don’t care about the hobby. This is 100% for casuals and kids. Thanks for more unnovation hasbro.

Obsoleting over a decade and a half of darts? Great work, Hasbro. 👏 You've providing yet another example of how greedy you are

Oh good, more dart DRM
Just in case anyone still honestly believe Hasbro had any interest in catering to enthusiasts

They've tried this so many times I swear. It's another flop in the water. Half cut darts is all they had to do lol

Dart DRM = I'll never buy it. I totally understand Hasbro's business decision, but I gotta make my consumer decision too.

I remember getting banned from Reddit for calling a Nerf blaster a "Nerf gun" and got banned for a month. 🤡

I personally don’t think I’ll be getting any n-series blasters unless there are a few that can be easily converted to half-length darts. Some of the bodies look pretty cool, but I don’t want a repeat of Ultra collecting dust in my closet. Don’t have the space, don’t have the need, don’t want the hassle of keeping these darts all separate from the others.

I understand Hasbro was trying to increase the surface area of contact with the new N-Series dart, but I believe they would have been better served keeping the .50 cal diameter. I think parents are going to be completely confused buying their kids Nerf blasters for the next 2-3 years.

Just seems very silly when they could just adopt half-lengths for everything and get even better results but oh well. Is it a better dart than Elites? Yes. Is it a better dart than Dart Zone or Zuru current-gen full lengths? NO. Why does Nerf insist on lagging behind the competition SO hard? I really cannot understand it for the life of me. It seems like they're bound and determined to ride their brand name's established goodwill into the ground, and it'll only last them so long.

I'm honestly less mad about no new Elite blasters, and more so that it means they probably won't make darts anymore for what I already have.

I have to say, not a fan of these. All the darts I've got now are outdated, and more importantly, unusuable for the newer stuff. Plus, it all looks uglier and much more toy like. I get that they are ultimately toys, but part of the appeal was that it seemed to be an enjoyable hobby for all ages. Plus, N-Strike introduced this theme of modularity, which I found to be a neat novelty, even way back then.

This instead signals to me that they're choosing to do a total overhaul for everything blaster related, primarily to boost sales for things like extra clips and darts, which I think is a particularly scummy move. Maybe it performs better, but I can't help but get flashbacks to Ultra, where they've purposely designed it to only function with certain darts, seemingly just out of spite for their consumerbase.

All of this just feels like a bad move overall, at least for the older audiences, like myself. I'm certainly not bothering to buy these anyways, and if this is the new standard, probably won't be buying blasters from Hasbro again. Not that I have for a while, granted.

Perhaps kids will get a blast from these, and all the power to them. But I believe that these blaster toys are something that could cater for more than just children alone, even if it's seen as just as a niche thing amongst older audiences.

Now that she’s officially been laid to rest can we get an updated top five (or even better a top ten!) Elite blasters? This line deserves to be honored and this channel is the place to do it. I remember watching your unboxings of the Rampage and Retaliator like it was yesterday😢
