My dad considered flying for mission Aviation Fellowship after he retired from the navy in 1962. He had done his 20+ navy years and accumulated 9k all piston hours. What held him back was their requirement to have an A&P ticket. It would have been an adventure following him to distant shores at age 9.

I prefer to let the weather check me. I am sure predicting weather in PNG is near impossible due to micro-climates. In Lelystad, Netherlands, the Wx can change by the hour.

A damp, dreich day in the Sepik! The flying in the Sepik Basin is such a contrast to the Highlands where you spend much of your time. I like the way you pilots help each other with weather information etc - just a shame HCM confirmed a mistaken QNH! Good of you to ask Moresby to relay the local QNH to SID when you couldn't raise him after landing - I'm sure he received it as that ATC lady seems to be extremely efficient. A good chance to see all the updated electronic information and navigation systems you have now - very impressive.
The timelapse return to Goroka was great - gives a great sense of what it's like to fly over the Sepik and Ramu Rivers and the music was very apt. I've followed your channel for four years and have seen how over the years how you have learnt to really understand the clouds and weather systems in PNG and coming back from Wewak to Goroka despite the clouds you know in those conditions the Goroka or Asaloka Gaps will be open into a cloud free Goroka Valley. Superb content Ryan - thank you.

Beautiful final leg with the time lapse - sadly as a diabetic I will likely never be able to get a ppl so I will have to watch things like that and dream.
