Read. Actual. Books.

The internet is amazing, but it is the single largest cause of Dunning-Kruger

This is awesome! Thanks Cameron!
I've been following you for about two years now, and seemed to discover Matt Frad at roughly the same time lol.
Anyhow, I'll pray for your discerning with the papacy

We definitely need specialists, and I can also see value in having general knowledge - if your in 1 on 1 discussion with a hardened skeptic it would help to point out it's not just the contingency but the fine tuning, failure of abiogenesis vs intelligent design, forensic evidence, eye witness testimonies, historicity, fulfilled prophecies, nde's, miracles, flood evidence, Y-chromosome tree, resurrection evidence and so on

Yeah, dude: follow your bliss 😂. But seriously, God made us with certain interests: those godly desires of our hearts. Excellent advise, Cam!

If you’re trying to decide what to master, I’d advice to pick something that’s *not* apologetical in nature at all. Whatever you go into, try to have the goal of discovering what’s true ( or most probable), rather than defending a position.

Depends on what you mean by mastering. The most important part is distinguishing the solidity of a certain position in the context of reality. What is not supported by reality is not going to be solid because it is prolific. That can be counterproductive. Simple and solid.

Can you share the complete reading list on the argument from contingency??

Aristotle attempted to master every subject, and you have to admit he did pretty well. He just botched canon ball trajectories.

I've yet to find a person who has mastered anything in apologetics. Apologetics is a game of hiding having to give a good reason. Apologists use tricks like "200+ arguments for God" but all of the arguments are flawed. Apologists end up mastering things like gish-galloping as they run from the truth.

The contingency argument is similar to the kalam, in that in can only lead to cause before you dive off into intellectual dishonesty.

How would a person be able to determine if he/she has "mastered" a subject in apologetics?

If a person claims to have "mastered" an apologetics subject and another person expresses his/her opinion this claim is dubious at best, how should this matter be settled?

Hey Cam do u agree with MARY BEING SINLESS THROUGHOUT HER LIFE....sorry if I'm being rude but can u please respond to this...a simple yes or no answer is more than enough for the whole catholicism debate

Maybe you should stop looking for ways to apologize for a supposed all-powerful being who supposedly can do no wrong.

Advaita Vedanta (nondual Hinduism), dualistic Hinduism, Buddhism (most all forms I know of), etc, do not evangelize the world or have apologetics classes to defend against, say, Christianity. Why can't Christianity get over itself and just enjoy its brand of delusion and own it.
