Best part is trying to give stuff away FREE. That's a nightmare. Either they want you to deliver it to them, they ghost you for a month after not showing up and then get back when you didn't hold it for them, or they want you to pay them money to come pick it up. Found it much easier to put a price on it and then let someone "sob story" you into letting them have it free, they'll be there instantly to score a deal from a "sucker".

I put a 55 gallon fish tank on marketplace for like $60, it was like $90 new so I figured I'd get a lot of people interested. First guy messaged me and said he would do $50, so I asked if he could do $55 and he said nevermind. Messaged me the next day and said he would do $60 and that he had like 4 of the same one so he knew it was a good deal. Left the next day to meet with him and halfway there he messaged me and said "Nevermind I'm not interested" and blocked me

I am obligated to price my item a little higher then what I actually what because regardless of how fair I price it everyone is going to ask for a cheaper price.

I just sold my used pool vacuum on fb Marketplace, the other day. First thing i ever sold there. I was SO relieved when the people who came to get it were a nice, friendly older couple and not some crazy person who seemed like they were going to rob my house or something.

I really wish Facebook had a better ratings system.

It would be nice to see a "schedule" feature where you work out a meeting time/place.
And if one person just bails without confirming a change to plansits a strike on their marketplace account.

It can use your phones GPS to confirm you're at the meeting location.

I did social media for a car company and literally had a women having a go at us because ‘shes never owned a car, she hasn’t got a license and to stop harassing her’ because she kept clicking the automated ‘is this available’ then when the automated response replied she’d reply to herself in a continuous chain 😂

So my dad once put a piece of furniture on Facebook marketplace for free, with the caption first one to come, gets it. He got up to ten pieces of hate mail from people saying, "oh, I asked you to save it for me, but when I showed up, it was gone."
