We loved our Afghan cooker and used it regularly until we learned that they all contain lead. We tested it with a lead test kit that you can purchase at most any home improvement store. It tested positive. Please be cautious when using, and test it for lead before using yours again. Be safe!

It seems a lot of different cultures use that kind of pot to cook. I remember seeing my mother in law use it. My wife is German. And I saw Russian, Asian and Indian people use it as well.

We carry a small aluminium pressure cooker and utilise it on our butane cooker.
Just over 1 hour on pressure, meat is so tender, be it silverside, pickled pork, lamb shanks, but now we'll have to try ribbs next.
Fortunately our small unit is compact to carry as opposed to the unit here.
