I've spent most of this week in my hotel room in Tokyo (which was paid by myself) editing and finishing off this video, one night even editing till 3am. So if you enjoy this review or found it useful, I would really appreciate if you can click the LIKE button (on the video) or drop a comment or share it with someone to support me :)

So detailed, so indepth, so comprehensive. Wow... I really appreciate that you talk more on what the S9 has and can do rather than ranting and complaining on and on about what it doesn't.

I kept looking up thinking you uploaded different videos and I wanted to watch all of your S9 content.
Well.. it was one video the whole time and I got exactly what I wanted. What a BEAST

I was never interested in buying a camera. After the S9 came out, I really think I'm gonna buy it as my first camera

I bought the Panasonic S9 Blue Color with the Smallrig Grip and the Panasonic Wrist Strap directly from the company. Firmware 1.2 is ok and the stabilization is excellent. I am getting the Sigma I Series 20mm f/2. During the heat of the day I get 3 extra minutes from the 15 minutes of the old record time at 4K 30p because of the Flashing Triangle Overheat Warning. Turned off the camera for about 5 minutes and recorded for another 15 minutes and 20 seconds before stopping the recording again because of the Warning. I can turn on in the setting for the old record times but with the new firmware update the camera will stop the recording if the camera gets too hot. After the second recording when I stopped it and took it inside the camera was warm. Battery Life is excellent. I also own the S5II & S5IIx. S9 is smaller and more portable which I want to use now. With combination of L Mount Glass I am satisfied of the glass I am collecting. With adapters I can utilize different lenses to use with this mount. Very in depth review. Thank You! Cheers!

@34:25 Interesting find with the PDAF in 1080 50/60. Surely the S9 is using the same processor as the S5ii so hopefully this means Lumix can bring this over to the S5ii and S5iix. It would really help me as a filmmaker as I've started considering investing in APSC options in order to skirt the crop limitations, but if they can fix the autofocus in the S5iix 1080p then I won't need to. Would mean when filming a wedding and I find myself on a gimbal and needing a wider lens I could simply swap to 1080p 50 to use the full width of the sensor rather than needing to change lens.

Great review Richard. The S9 will make an excellent B-roll camera to my S5II especially now that the recording limits are optional. Just one question though, while you were in Japan did you eat at the Osaka F**king Night Food Restuarant featured in the video?? ;) @01:03:00

The S9 concept should be implemented by APS-C. Full frame lenses are just too big, although they try to make smaller ones. This is just physics.

Dear Richard - at first I would like to thank you for your work in general and on top you are one of the few Reviewers that takes the time to reply to most peoples comments and questions. I have to thank you for that because its rare that this happens.

Can I place one last question regarding the S9? I struggle to find the Live Composite mode on my new S9. Does the S9 have Live Composite at all or is it one of those features that is not available because of the missing mechanical shutter?

I have been on the fence about this camera because I already own a Sigma FP. As I already own a few compact L mount lenses buying the S-9 body for use as a travel camera is starting to make sense to me because it has an articulating viewfinder, IBIS, better autofocus and what looks like good web integration . Thank you for a thorough review, Richard!

I remember I was on a Livestream Show and I turned off the cameras after 5 hours. In the morning I decided to take it out for a shoot and found condensation on the base plate of the tripod. I am wondering when utilizing a camera in cold weather if there might be condensation inside the camera? So it might affect the longevity of the camera. Sensor is what heats up the camera most. Maybe the disk drive writing for the storage also. Cheers!
