I can often see comments by (mostly American) women that they prefer circumcised men and that they were in favour of circumcising their healthy intact sons. My thought has always been.. “if it’s so necessary and clean, why don’t you get is done for her clitoral hood?”

There is a sad double standard when it comes to this issue.

Yep, and imagine the clitoral hood being removed and the clitoris exposed rubbing against clothing all day every day until it's desensitized. That's exactly what happens to the penis head of a circumcised male. It's meant to be internal, so keep it that way. If you wouldn't do it to your daughter, don't do it to your son.

So then why are women not asked if they want to circumcise their daughters? Your excuse would be "it can sever the clitoris's."
Look up diagrams of the Gomco, Mogen, and Plastibell techniques, they show colored versions of completely severing or major mutilation of the glans. Something that she never stated in her pro and con circumcision video.
