Yeah it's def not suppose to do that, I've had mine for about 6 years or so and it def doesn't do that. Sometimes the pivot gets a little loose and the blad wobbles a little while it's open but not like yours while closed. But I would try to tighten the pivot and if not then return it and get another. they are actually pretty good knives for the price.

I Think If It Were Me Having This Little Problem, I’d Get Ahold Of Smith & Wesson, Explain Your Problem And Ask Express Your Feelings About The Situation, And Ask Them If They’d Replace The Faulty Knife ( “ You Don’t Feel Like You Can Trust This Knife Anymore “ )
