As a new mini painter, this video is a gem

2:34 it's the red one (Micro Sol) you need to soften the transfers. The Blue one (Mirco Set) is to help you get the transfer where you want it, apply a layer first to the area and glide the transfer on top.

I personally feel this is the best tutorial for decals out there. Super helpful. Now my blood angels have their proper markings!

This is awesome, I haven't touched transfers since 3rd edition, believing them to require forbidden arcane knowledge to actually lie flat without lumps. Turns out it needs microset! Thanks so much, first good transfer I've ever done

Just found this channel and wanted to say - damn dude I love your logo. Perfect blend of the 2nd ed 40k logo and AoS one. Also solid tutorial - I'm not new to transfers, but I definitely learned new things here. Cheers!

Microset is to get the transfer in place microsol is the one that makes it fully conform to the surface

Thanks for this video. I’ll feel a lot more confident now. As a bit of CC - could you perhaps advise on timings here, eg for the soaking, drying times for each step etc?

Mr. Mark Softer form Mr. Hobby also works really well for softening transfers. The main thing I've noticed with any decal softening solution is that you really need to trust the process. Mr. Mark Softer makes the transfers sort of crinkle up at first, which can be alarming, but once it's dry they really look painted on.

You can cut some decals into parts for to better stick to round areas, like in insignia here. You can cut it from center to top.
