Million Student March & Rally for City College of San Francisco 2015-11-12

(San Francisco) - Students, faculty, and community members march from the City College of San Francisco downtown campus to the campus at United Nations Plaza. This action was part of a nationwide demonstration across the United States. Students are demanding an end to usurious student debt and the end of "austerity:" cutting of classes, programs, and teachers. A particularly contentious issue at CCSF is the power exerted by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC); a quasi-legal, unelected group of people with little or no actual classroom experience. This body has appointed a "special trustee" at CCSF whose recommendations have damaged the quality of education at that school.
