There is no such thing as "Not related to Bass"
Everything in life is connected through *BASS*

Level 9 where he solos with his right hand while playing walking bass with his left over a drum track is the single greatest display of jazz musicianship I have ever seen.

1:30 Is that a Donna Lee lick?
1:40 nevermind there’s another

Level 10: Only hardcore jazz musicians will understand what's happening.

I'm no where near hardcore jazz musician, but I hear the LICC at 2:55

“At this point you need to play an “Inside Joke” that only jazz people will
That’s the answer to the meaning of life! 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you for staying true to musicianship and not sell out to do meaningless gimmicks just to fill a 10min vid.
Content creation is real hard work, and thank you Charles for putting in the work. Over time, your consistency will show.

So good, as always. Love hearing what your brain comes up with, it's always a great listen. I also love that I learned something from watching the ad pitch at the end lol. I've had a vpn for a while now and never even thought of checking out the trending tab in other countries. What have I been missing out on, thanks for that.

Ah, Charles, ya killin’ me! Love your playing so much! A few years back I attempted to learn electric bass - bucket list item as I hit that big 6-oh. After a couple of years and a promising start, I stopped because I wasn’t practicing. Frustrated me because my head knew what to do but I couldn’t put in the hours. What was a wonderful surprise is that it felt so natural in my hands - after trying a regular size went to Micro, and bam! Love at first touch. I wish I’d known in my youth that maybe this was the instrument I was meant to play - flute player through college - music ed. But now, it’s really too late for me to attain what I want. you so much for posting all this great music! I’m living vicariously through you. (I might sneak back into school to retrieve my bass and amp. 😘)

Ah, autumn leaves - my ALL TIME FAVORITE jazz standard. As a saxophone performance major back when I was in school this was my favorite standard to improv over and holy shit did you absolutely nail every level of this. Your playing continues to amaze me, as not only do you have amazing technical chops but your style, feel and musicality are second to none. Please, please more jazz videos like this!

Been listening to a lot of jazz lately, so this was amazing and perfect for where my head was at right now.
We are not worthy, Charles!!!

That, was brilliant. I loved every second of it. I have been playing again solely from your inspiration so thank you for reminding me of my love of bass! ❤️

You really should make a Slap Solo in the Jazz Style! I would pay to see that, and of course talented musicianship display here as always!
