Badami | Cave Temples | Agastya Lake | Fort
Показать описание
This vlog covers my journey in this town, experiencing the rich heritage that it beholds. The picturesque Agastya Lake, mighty Badami Fort and intricately carved Cave Temples, all this renders historical significance to this town.
Badami is one of the rarely explored gem of Incredible India. Located in Bagalkot district in Karnataka and formerly known as Vatapi, this place is famous for rock cut caves and temples.
These rock cut caves are believed to have been carved during the 6th to 8th century when this town was a capital of Chalukyas.
It is that hidden gem which is a must visit place in Karnataka. Many a times it ends up second when compared to Hampi but in my honest opinion, having visited both the towns, Badami is my favorite as it offers variety.
The road from Belgaum to Badami is a treat for bikers, its one of the most beautiful stretches to ride. Both sides covered with lush green fields, this smooth tarmac is heavenly to ride on.
Best time to visit Badami could be late monsoon or early winters (per my preference) as this time is very unique and definitely adds to your experience.
Heritage Resort proved to be the best place to stay in Badami as it was cozy, away from the crowded town, offered space, provided delicious meals and were very courteous.
