Your Brain on Art with Susan Magsamen

Показать описание
Have you ever left an art gallery feeling a bit more relaxed, or felt at peace dragging a paintbrush across a canvas?
There’s a reason for that. It’s neuroaesthetics - the scientific study of how the brain is affected by creating and viewing art.
On April 4th, Susan Magsamen joins us to explain the emerging field of neuroarts, offer proof of how our brains and bodies are transformed when we participate in the arts and aesthetic experiences, and how this knowledge can improve our physical and mental health, help us flourish, and build stronger communities.
Susan Magsamen is the co-author of Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Usfounder and director of the International Arts + Mind Lab at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
About Susan: Susan Magsamen is the founder and director of the International Arts + Mind Lab Center for Applied Neuroaesthetics at the Pedersen Brain Science Institute of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she is a faculty member in the department of neurology. She is also the co-director of the NeuroArts Blueprint.
