Hotel Operation under COVID-19 in Corfu

On the 3rd June, a teleconference was held by the Association of Hotel Managers of Corfu, in collaboration with the Corfu Hotel Association on the operation of hotels under COVID-19. Mr. G. Pelekanakis (president of ΠΟΔΙΞ) and Ms. Adni Christidou (Director General of ΞΕΕ) presented the situation from a legal point of view and gave clarifications. Professor Dimitrios Buhalis followed where with his experience in creating procedures on the operation of hotels, he tried to analyze the complexity of the issue by emphasizing the management of a possible incident. Finally, Mr. N. Gdontelis (CEO of AG ADVENT), analyzed the steps where they should be followed in order every company prepares its own study and procedures for the operation of the hotel in this new environment! As it is not up to anyone to prevent a possible case, each company is essentially called upon to implement these procedures, which will avoid the cross-contamination to staff, residents, visitors and suppliers. The right organization will therefore help to deal in any possible case with courage and knowledge by limiting transmission.
