How Do You Turn Hand Drawn into Tweened Animation? RePosition Drawing Tool in Toon Boom Harmony

The reposition drawing tool baffled me for years, it seems like it doesn't do much and I ignored it for a long time. And even then it took a couple of demonstrations before it really clicked.

But when it did I found it to not just speed up my animating a tonne, but allow me to work more freely. Drawing things wherever I want and then taking advantage of the peg/keyframing stuff later rather than needing to plan things out from a technical perspective in advance.

Very curious to hear some other takes on this thing, please tell me in the comments!

Hopefully I remember this next time I have the problem with having to deal with hand-drawn movement after the fact. Sometimes I'll pull the Shift and Trace tool out for redraws or inbetweens.

Super Cool!!! This is close to something we refer to as "Tsuke Pan" in my country. Of course, being digital it has much more freedom than the cel era. This would be very useful indeed!!

I love watching these despite not owning toon boom.

As i always stick with handrawn animation, this tool seems great for small adjustments on traditional Animation.

Or for animating a character on ones and then using the worlds most complicated rig in that fashion.

Wonder if using that trick you could trick an audience member into thinking its purly handrawn but is actually just a good rig in that way

Im not making it work. The black cross moves, but also the drawing is offsetting and moving in wrong position in camera. Also nothing is happening in drawing view. Sometimes it works, sometimes dont.
