Yes u r right she should learn Hindi coz Maharashtrians understands hindi and also she will be able to communicate with anyone across India except some southern states even there in states like Telangana, Andhra, Karnataka people understands hindi. And not just Indians she wud be able to communicate with Nepalis, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Fijians, Sri Lanka and even in few south American countries like Suriname, Trinidad & tobago, Guyana many people speaks or atleast understands Hindi. So it's quite a skill to be able to communicate with over a billion people across the world.
