It's hard to deny that Del Taco needs to figure out how to serve tacos without broken shells. But in terms of "quality ingredients", I don't know how you are defining that. Del Taco has far fresher meat, fresh grated cheese unlike Taco Bell, fresh sliced avocado unlike Taco Bell, fresh tomatoes and pico unlike Taco Bell, and on down the line. I consider that to mean a lot more than the presentation, it's fast food after all. My goal is to get food quick, fairly cheap, and tasty without feeling like I just ate nothing but fatty chemicals. Do you know why Taco Bell's shells hold up and present well? They are engineered to resist moisture. Taco Bell is just a corn shell, which by nature should break down quickly when it gets wet. Next time order a Taco at Del Taco, and eat it immediately. They are fantastic for the first few minutes. What you guys are confusing for better flavor is all the extra salt Taco Bell adds to everything, especially their ground beef. The thing that drives me crazy with most food reviews, particularly negative comments, is when they are describing the condition of a prepared food item that was meant to be consumed a long time prior. It's not uncommon to be looking at an item that was purchased over an hour before, and often has been reheated. You simply cannot form a proper opinion on fast food in that state.

I live in an area where there are no Del Taco Restaurants, so I had never tried Del Taco until last June when I was in Arizona. Up until then, I'd only ever had Taco Bell (sometimes AMAZING, sometimes AWFUL), Taco John's (love the crunchy tacos), and Taco Mayo (pretty good). After having had Del Taco at three different locations in different states, I do gotta say ... I don't know what the fuck you people are talking about. Del Taco is 100% better than Taco Bell. It looks better, it tastes better, it's cheaper, and the texture of the meat is WAY, better (unless you like crusty meats).

I may he biased as a SoCal and i grew up with people who like Del Taco better than taco bell dude but taco bell (ironically I'm from the city where taco bell was started 😂) But Taco Bell is downright disgusting. All i taste is salt and processed cheese and i can't even order fries.

Del taco all the way order a del taco and get q1/4 pound of cheese. And taco bells beans are dehydrated, still good but del taco is way better

I’ll be honest, Taco Bell’s got some really tasty tacos and crunchwraps . Del Taco wins, though. Tastes more fresh, has great fries, can make your burrito bold (try it. Whole new burrito) carne Asada fries, has Mr Pib, and doesn’t upset your stomach lol. Want a shake? Just 1 dollar for a little shake. Pretty sweet.

The only reason that I prefer Del Taco over Taco Bell is that, I do not get an upset stomach from when I eat Del Taco unlike when I eat Taco Bell.
