Dr. Webb, I'm currently on 4th year rotations and doing surgery, with my same preceptor I had in my 3rd year (back in January). You have the only video I can find that appropriately explains how to throw the one handed knot and lock it while your needle is still hanging on like is the case in the O.R. every time. Thank you X100 for this video. He was a little in shock when I was able to do this with relative ease at a decent pace. Definitely feel like I can contribute more as a student when little things like this can be done, and done correctly. Keep up the great work Dr. Webb!!!!

I found it difficult getting knots tied but when I came across your video it has taught me how to tie both one and two handed knots and now I can do both effortlessly. I'm so happy now.God bless you Dr.

For anyone considering general surgery, you should really be able to single and two hand tie with either hand. Not just right. Sometimes you don’t have room to be using your dominate hand- gotta be quick with both.

Yes this is great and all, but I didn't see the step where you are supposed to give Ancef.

In all seriousness, I'm an IM resident that wanted to brush up on surgical knot tying for my stitches for my central lines and chest tubes on MICU rotation and this video doesn't disappoint. Thanks for everything that you do!

I'm not a surgeon, though Ive been sewing so long I bet I could stitch like a pro. I am a sewist, I was wondering if the surgeon's knot would work for tying quilts.

I got slightly confused at 6:55 when practicing this on my suture kit. Did you mean right middle finger? I eventually got it though, and the video is very helpful. Thanks!

Excellent job doctor. I'm a PA in Cardiovascular Surgery, can you do one on vessel tie offs and keeping the tension to divide a blood vessel without leaking. My surgeon keeps showing me, but he's always so fast.

I love the southern accent and that you say “hode”.. instead of hold and brung 😂 makes me feel at home. I’m from GA.. so I get it.

Dr Webb can you do a video on how to close a lumbar wound on an obese patient. The pulling from the weight of the excess skin is problematic on the wound. Thank you
