What if you use the strands in the core of the paracord and braid that?

Hoping this continues, curious to see the viability of different string materials.

It appeared that the paracord was just strung as is.(I could be wrong)
I feel a more accurate test would be to gut the paracord and use the inner strands to make a bow string.

"Will it string?" - nice video! How about testing other types of fishing line like monofilament etc?

This reminds me I wanted to ask what you thought about silk bowstrings, I believe ancient Mongolians used silk, but I could be mistaken

When I was 11 I made my a bow that was just a straight springy stick and the string was a 3 piece braid of waxed floss.
I shot it a ton over the summer and eventually the bow gave out but the floss didn't.
I would like to see how well floss performs when a professional makes a string from it.

I know from personal experience that the braided fishing line works great. I had to make a new bow string for my 65lb Mongolian Horse bow. They don't carry those strings on the shelf. I used higher weight fishing line and discovered that I had to use thicker serving string. I also noticed that when shooting the bow is quieter. I made my string during the supply issues after covid. The fishing line was on the shelf at Bass Pro Shops.

I make all my own Bow strings out of 90lb. test braided fishing line 14 strands, or 12 strands if I use 100lb. test. I love the stuff, and get it dirt cheap from WISH! Costs me about $4 a string. I make contious loop strings & will never buy a string!
Thanks for this video, I think more people are starting to see that braided fishing line is a great alternative to use in making great bow strings!

I got a bunch of braided spider wire 100% spectra fishing line out of a clearance bin for cheap and I've used that for bow strings for a long time. The spider wire has very little stretch and has increased my arrow speeds significantly. When I run out of this stuff I'll start getting d97 for my bows.

The bright yellow fishing line looks cool with that bow! Another idea for Will it Bow(string) is the strands from the fiberglass tape you used to back some bows a while ago. Great video and interesting as always!

I'm pretty excited that the YouTube rabbit hole led me to this channel. I've learned a whole lot and I'm looking forward to getting into bow hunting again! Not to mention, this channel offers great tips, extensive info, and the video production quality and editing is top notch. Great work and thank you!

I tried your method of making with a sinew waxed thread, I didn’t expect it to work so well

Love your stuff Kramer. Got me to upgrade my gear and I'm shooting 108 arrows a day during the week to get better....not getting better yet, but baby steps, right. Keep at it man. Love the channel.

This is really cool. I love the shade of yellow on the fishing line.

Great video. I would be interested in seeing a video on the proper placement of arrow knocks on the string and you assessment of aiming methods. I tend to find string walking easier but as far as I can see you use natural aiming. What are the pros and cons?

Have you thought about taking the strands out of the paracord and twisting it together that way?

You're killing it man. I love your videos. The editing and music work so seamlessly. You're very passionate and it shows!

My experience with paracord was the opposite of yours.
My tests showed no stretch at all. Leads me to wonder if different types have different properties. Keep up the good work,
Love your videos

I used polyester upholstery thread for a low-poundage set of bows for my kids. Ran it through beeswax and tied as a continuous flight bowstring and served with regular polyester thread.
