In this lecture Jacque Fresco scrutinizes the myths and values that have dominated history, those related to decision-making, individuality, superstitions, metaphysics, astrology, religion, prejudice, stereotypes, indoctrination, animism, purpose, love, justice, expectations, nudity, morality, competition, favoritism, holidays, rituals, marriage, relationships. Fresco scrutinizes at length the creation stories of the Bible, as well as stories of Moses and Jesus Christ. In explaining the origin of consciousness, Fresco notes Paul Brunton's book, "Quest of the Overself."

The Venus Project proposes an alternative vision of what the future can be if we apply what we already know in order to achieve a sustainable new world civilization. It calls for a straightforward redesign of our culture in which the age-old inadequacies of war, poverty, hunger, debt and unnecessary human suffering are viewed not only as avoidable but as totally unacceptable. Anything less will result in a continuation of the same catalog of problems inherent in today's world.

One of the issues is what is referred to as the 'temporary fractional designation of purpose'. Meaning : as we electrically process temporary needs, in combination with the chemical nature of emotion, leading to a temporary result of an equilibrium through chemical fulfillment, we gradually built a world around us, just as much as we built a system, which has the properties of a law of physics. Our concepts have the same features as those laws of physics, as they are basically similar in their way we build them. Capitalism, now has the same motive as gravity, whilst that not being 'factual'. We need to apply American pragmatism (I am an European, but I see that as one of the major accomplishments of American society), without thinking 'who' we are, but transform that to 'what' we are. The difference between 'I think, therefore I am' and 'I think, therefore I become', is a mere what the relative mechanism 'identity' considers within its environment. If you strip yourself from all conditioned conceptual projections, 'who' is left?! or 'what' is left?! Homo sapiens doesn't 'like' to reduce itself to a chemical barrel, processing electric current. There is one thing we didn't take in account : we are able to transfer sound and light by means of the ether and wire. This has lead to a synchronizing of billions of chemical barrels, processing electric current. I don't know how I should explain Americans : maybe like that (example) 'Collectivist Maoism', from which Chinese people orient their pragmatism has another 'angle' to the same problem. The 'collectivism' Europeans and Americans apply is capitalism. Communism is another, more applied by Russians. I am not religious, but the number of adepts has an influence on decision making, so I have to learn how to think like a 'religiously conditioned' person, in order to understand him/her, in order to have a mutual goal. That is how it should work. One can't deny its upbringing, neither of us can. Our relation with death determines our current identity through the alter ego, but our daily needs define our relation between the 'ich' and the 'über-ich'. Carl Gustav Jung, understood that, and applied his 'division' into 'ich' 'über ich', 'ego' and 'alter ego', in a conditional way, but then the notion died with him, and psychologists applied it as a tool, without the philosophy of 'conditional pragmatism'. Meaning : Herr Jung applied it whilst re evaluating on every subject, and psychologists used it to evaluate subjects. Which is a world of difference! Anyway, we're here now, and that's the graveyard we're in. Nothing to do about it anymore, I'm afraid.

'Give all the world the best, and the best comes back to you'. In its most abstract form, it is correct. In a more causal nature it is less correct, and as soon as you apply it within the example of current reality, it gradually dies within the temporary degree of 'purpose'. First 'best', 'best' is your current definition of your 'temporary goal', so of course it's 'full of shit', or is it?! There is a 'natural equilibrium' and beyond that 'universal equilibrium'. 'Natural equilibrium' has a more profound 'chemical equilibrium' than the 'universal equilibrium', which has a more 'quantum physical equilibrium'. So that's how you get the sequence of motive in our relative complexity of actions. Major question is always 'why'. But 'why' means that 'what' spawn out of 'how', acts 'when' upon 'who' (which I explained underneath is 'what', but in our relative conceiving we are 'who', as we are 'minds' in a particle zoo of half times having no 'free will' and are considered 'passive actors' until further notice - referring to periodic table ). So 'comes to you', is just a result of 3D+time actions and reaction, which is basically temporarily 'true' in relative perspective on a molecular level. But don't forget, as you are reading this, what I have been writing, and you think you understand it, it sort of 'dies' as a concept. So what I was, when I was writing this, killed me in your designating my identity. That's 'why' 'who' is just a relative interpretation. So it is not sure whether it is still 'true', as 2 minds 'defined' it. To 'actors' upon mandeleev's table, a change in the electric current steering of our interpretations, as on a quantum level, doesn't 'find'' 'common ground'. But don't worry, on a molecular level, there is. And that's why we need to consider and designate our concepts as 'temporary realism', not as 'eternal truths', I guess. I like to be challenged in this, as this helps us understand ourselves., and our world (which is one of the goals we all have within our existentialism).

Love of life.. and what is life? Time? So i have to love time? You are gonna teach kids to love time? Why? And what if i don't want to? You are going to take my kid and teach it something i dont agree with? Fresco has grown up during a time where the predominant intellectual atmosphere was about communism. His attitude and view is very elitist. He believes all wisdom resides in the hands of an intellectual all-knowing elite, who have been ordained to forcefuly impose their wisdom on us stupid mortals. Who is going to decide whose kid will be ''taken away''? What if i don't agree with what they are teaching? Are they going to take away my kid anyway? Just because YOU think you know what's good for others, doesn't mean you have the right to impose your views on them. You are free to persuade me, not force me. Intellectuals have always been elitists, throughout time with every new discovery they have thought there is nothing else to discover. I would rather people be free to raise their kids the way they want, even if i think they are doing it wrong, than to take their kids and raise them the way i think is right for them. I think kids should be educated in school, but Jacque doesn't seem to have the slightest clue about how to educate them. He just has vague ideals, nothing specific.
