Zojila Tunnel | All About India's Strategic Tunnel Connecting Srinagar To Leh | Jammu and Kashmir

Zojila Tunnel : Construction work on the strategic Zojila pass is going on at full pace in Jammu and Kashmir's Sonamarg.

Almost 50 per cent of construction work is completed and it is expected to be open for traffic in September 2026.

Zojila Tunnel will ensure all-weather connectivity between Kashmir and Ladakh.

Locations prone to avalanches have also been identified along the highway. Eight cut-and-cover structures, which also serve as tunnels, have been constructed to prevent avalanches from reaching the valley or river.

This highway is the sole link between Ladakh and the rest of Jammu and Kashmir.
