Anthrax - Caught In A Mosh guitar cover

old school thrash is so fun to play, but it's so hard. speed is my weak spot at the moment with my guitar playing so i decided to learn something pretty fast.

most of the solos for old megadeth/anthrax songs are way too tough for me to play so i just winged the super fast part!! its the amateur way.

among the living is far and away the best anthrax album imo

Hey dude this is an awesome cover! Idk how ppl do lead solos so well though. I've only been playin for a year and a half and I do rhythm guitar very well but I find the alternate picking to be difficult. Any advice?

I cannot play this solo or any of Dan Spitz' solos, but I do know how to play several other lead guitar solos. Can you please give me some advice on how to go about on Dan's solo? play it how you want! don't be afraid to develop your own technique!

Nope. If something sounds sloppy then it's because of the player, not the technique. This sounds sloppy because when I recorded this I'd been playing for less than 3 years, and I'm fine with admitting that I'm really not that good lol.

I can say that because I'm able to play this song and have a basic grasp of what it involves. Random anons don't really have any grounds to tell a guitarist their technique is "wrong". Please upload a video showing me how it's done "properly".

I don't have to, just find the live version of the song here or the music video and watch the right hand of Scott :) yeah, downpicking is hard, and sometimes takes years to figure it out, so you agree with me that your playing is incomplete :) don't get me wrong, your good anyway

If you can play On Impulse then you're definately better than me man. Admittedly i've only tried to learn it for a few minutes, but I think it's definately out of my league. I think I need to focus on cleaner playing of the songs I can play atm so I can master some easier songs before going onto the harder stuff.

Yeah man. Nothing bugs me more than a metalhead who only listens to one subgenre, and insults everything else. I mean if someone wants to listen to one thing that they like, that's totally cool, but there's no need to be all elitist and bash other bands/genres.
