What advice would you give to someone riding behind you, holding your wheel?

Make sure you have a really loud free hub so that the rider in front of you knows how little work you are doing, lol

Safety tip - ride at a higher cadence (smaller gear) than the person you’re drafting. Means you’re less likely to run into or overlap their wheel.

It’s pretty important to get to know the habits of the riders you are trailing.
How reliable are they with avoiding debris? Do they always use signals to warn of dangers? How heavily do they brake and how abruptly do they react? Will they ride you into dangerous situations (i.e. an intersection when the light is turning)?

There are a couple of riders in my group that I won’t follow the wheel of for some of these reasons.

Impossible for me to get dropped, being a solo rider / only thing getting dropped is the seat post😅

Instead of grabbing brakes try sitting up a little to take more wind, then you'll naturally drop back a bit without messing with the rider behind. Practice this on the track. Freewheeling also slows slightly but sends the wrong message to the rider in front!

Loving Connor's bike with the shopping bag ! Also, no points for the Jag (?) overtaking on double white's.

Don't rely totally on the lead rider for pothole spotting and hazards.last second dodges from the front person can mean you ride straight into/through it. an eye over the shoulder of the lead person is my tip

Connor Would be the ideal Front Man for Any team. His 6.8ft Wind Breaking Figure Would Give Ultra Smooth Air For The Man Behind.

Don't get fixated on the wheel ahead, pay attention to the road up ahead to predict what the rider ahead of you could do

can you also post a scientific explanation of how much draft you get depending on your placement and distance from the rider in front of you? Also meaning how far away can you sit while you still get some benefit

great video - as a suggestion, a similar one for group riding etiquette might be worth doing. Recently saw a bunch of people out on a group ride and they were frustrating motorists as the group where all over the place 2-3-4 a breast, strung out in one long line at times and generally slow, so making things very hard for cars to get by safely

Missed opportunity not to have Dr. Bridgewood share his experiences.

This technique helped me and a few others I met this past Saturday, ride 52 miles without stopping at the aid stations. The communication and taking pulls helped us finish the ride in under 3 hrs.

One “preparation” tip: look ahead of the rider(s) and not at the wheel in front of you. This will give ample views of what the riders in front may do, before they may even know. It also prevents that tunnel vision you probably get from staring at said wheel

Seeing Connor’s bike next to Hanks just makes me want to do a running dive through the frame 😂.
But seriously, seeing Hank looking over his shoulder but riding straight is something I struggle with . Can you do a video on how to do this and looking behind you

I stopped using hand signels. You give up so much control, that one time you could get caught out by a strong crosswimd, unseen pothole or rider in front brakes. Consequences are too high in a group.

I use my voice now to alert the group.
