Costco's Strong Return Policy - #funny #comedy

I saw a video about someone who returned a couch without a receipt, after having it for years. The comment section said that they’ll return anything. I made this video cause I thought it was funny and needed to make something that day. I’ll only been to a Costco one time, so it’s possible this is entirely made up. 😬

"Hello I'd like to return this time machine"
"Okay, when did you buy it?"
"In a week"

"Hello, I'd like to return these tires."
"Okay, what's wrong with them?"
"They wore out."
"Okay, here's your refund."

Witnessed actual returns like this. Half eaten party tray? Refund, 15 year old pressure washer finally quit? Refund, jar of pickle juice, sans pickles? Refund. It's wild lol

As a Costco employee who worked in the membership department for 2 years. I had someone return a $2200 gazebo after 13 years. It was weather wrecked, had lights still attached to it. The roof was covered in bird nonsense.

Costco is about satisfaction guaranteed. That person got a full refund. (But blocked from returning anything else since they did it once before 7 years before they bought it)

The will also return food that you don’t even bring back into the store. I was issued a refund for chicken that I purchased. Somehow in the scanning and boxing process the plastic container broke through and by the time I got home I had chicken juice all over my front seat. I called to let them know. They said to throw it out and next time I was in to stop by customer service and they would issue a refund for the chicken. I made a comment how the juice seeped into my spinach container and that I ended up tossing that too, and the representative issued a refund for that as well! I was completely shocked, but so grateful and impressed.

But yes, people get totally carried away 😂

I recently returned something out of its original packaging (but with a receipt) and the guy wasn't sure so he called his manager. They started discussing it in Spanish and the manager ended with "fuck it why not". I don't think he realized he switched back to English lol.

as a Costco employee, and someone who is married to someone who is in returns, this is the most accurate video I have seen today

Most people don't know but Costco has a 9-year return policy on most items. Things that aren't covered are televisions and computers. (Anything that has rapid technology updates) I tried to buy all my appliances now because of their warranty. I brought a crap LG oven a few years ago and they couldn't fix it. LG ghosted me and wanted to only pay me partial money for a refund. I bought it back to Costco and they gave me a full refund on my credit card.

"I'd like to return my adulthood. Purchased 18 years ago. But can I exchange it for my childhood back in the 1990s?" "Sure. Heres your refund on adulthood. Time machine is right over there" lol

Pretty accurate. They can see how much you spend compared to how much you return, and see it's worth keeping you as a happy customer. I have a family member that regularly maxes the $1, 000 rewards every year; for those who don't know that that means, it means they spend over $50, 000/year there. For them to return a 7-year old treadmill is nothing compared to what they don't return.

I worked at a Costco as a teen. We had a lady return outdoor patio furniture every year at end of summer.

I'm a supervisor at Harbor Freight and we're the same way. If you buy a chainsaw and the blade goes dull you can just bring it back and get a whole new chainsaw for free (within 90 days). All of our handtools have a no questions asked lifetime warranty (exchange only). You don't even need a receipt lol.

I work at the membership desk and this is 100% true. Lady came in a couple weeks ago to return a toilet after 4 years . A FREAKING TOILET. Full refund was given

I bought Calphalon pans that despite extreme care on my part still scratched up. I returned them, but I had closed the card I previously purchased them with, so I asked for the amount to be put on a gift card so I could buy the stainless pans I was going to replace them with. Well, the lady got confused and returned money to the closed credit card. I complained and told them I needed the pans. They gave me the pans. The credit card sent me a check for the refund. So I took that refund to Costco and told them this is their money. It was. The guy said this never happens. They are so generous in refunds and customer support it is amazing. It’s just a shame that some people think to exploit that generosity.

I just hope people don’t abuse this policy to such a degree that it disappears. Usually how it goes, asshats ruin good things for everyone else
