Why Are Politicians Avoiding this Topic? #drmarkhyman

We are amidst a metabolic health crisis that has taken the world by force, hijacking our biology, creating cellular dysfunction, and ultimately making us overweight, depressed, infertile, and chronically ill.

Our broken food system and the politics that influence it are to blame. The incentivization of processed grains, refined sugar, and sugar-sweetened beverages for profit has created an internal breeding ground for inflammation, insulin resistance, obesity, diabetes, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease.

On today’s episode of The Doctor’s Farmacy, I’m excited to talk to Calley Means, a former Big Food and Big Pharma consultant who is now pulling back the veil on corrupt industry practices and ringing the warning bell on how our health is being destroyed by insidious practices.

In this episode, we discuss:
- How the pharmaceutical industry is the largest funder of government, think tank organizations, academic research, and media outlets
- Why America is getting sicker, fatter, more depressed, and more infertile
- Corruption in industry and government that’s harming our health
- - Ozempic as a treatment for obesity in kids
- How obesity is harming our national security
- Taking control of your own health
- Banning food and pharmaceutical ads on television
- Is Ozempic bad for mental health?
- How the government subsidizes and recommends ultra-processed food
- The thing that can counteract the influence of money

Because no one makes money if you’re well.

I feel terrible for the children growing up today. Kids are bombarded with 97% toxicity from the jump. Where does their help come from? We must help each other to help our children of this world. Knowledge is power. Thank you to all Doctors who speak out against what is killing us. ❤❤❤

I picked up a bag of Hostess "Donettes" for old times sake several weeks ago. The dough tasted like straight sugar. It was disgusting. I threw them away. I don't remember them being that way before. Something is terribly wrong and our government seemingly has no problem with it.

I was a registered dietitian and used to work for a school nutrition department. They would not let me serve on the menu committee! All the people on that committee were obese and knew nothing about nutrition. They fed the kids processed carbs/junk for every meal. Most of the kids were overweight/obese. I finally quit because I couldn’t stand what they were doing. Eight years later, nothing has changed. 😢

Why would they want to talk about something they’re profiting from?

Thank you for bringing more light to this. Other countries governments actually care about the health of their people. Ours cares that big pharmacy pays them off to keep us sick.

As a nurse it shocks me that patients receiving chemotherapy are given junk food as snack while their receiving their treatments. Jello, pudding cups, ice cream, a bag of chips, popsicles.

Yep, kinda hard to avoid the conclusion that there's money in ill health. And how do we explain the lack of education about nutrition in our medical schools?

1) It takes 2 weeks of cramping and farting to change your diet. But you're probably already farting and cramping some from the bad diet.
2) The first rule is your plate should be a rainbow (vegetables and fruit), not beige/white beside the meat.
Then as much as you can, trade savory for sweet. Sugar will make you hungry/craving in 2-4 hours.
3) Try to shrink your stomach by eating foods that fill you up for 5-6 hours.
4) Have a bowl/cup of soup and/or a small salad prior to the main meal. You get your nutrients and still have room for a reasonably sized main course. This is how people used to eat before supersizing.
5) Trade water (mineral, bottled, with lemon, cucumber, mint, ginger slices, or a crushed raspberry), unsweet tea, black coffee, or broth for soda.
6) If your soda of choice is a liter or 2 of Mountain Dew/day, taper off gradually. I knew people who went cold turkey with quite bad health results.
7) White soft bread resembles glue in your intestines and mucks up your cilia, making it harder for food to move down the digestive tract (constipation). Definitely avoid it if colon cancer shows up in anyone in your family.
8) Boiled eggs, peppermint, one cheese cube, peanut butter, a glass of water or five minutes of exercise may help curb hunger before mealtime.
9) Processed, boxed, canned, bottled, bagged and wrapped food should be avoided - unless there's one ingredient.

It’s easy. Eat real food, avoid (added) sugar. Yet this topic is more taboo than religion or politics. Really sad.

It’s immoral to not give poor kids Coca Cola. Whoa. That’s so low of them!

When the majority of the adults are already addicted to sugar and processed food, the kids unfortunately, have no chance.

actually, that’s one component. It’s not the only reason. The rest of it is toxic environment and lack pollution laws and water protections.

Polluters are protected
