Quiltfolk's Jenni Smith Introduces Her Workshop With Kaffe Fassett

Did you know that Kaffe Fassett was the inspiration behind Jenni Smith's very first quilt over 15 years ago? This January, come along with Jenni as she explores the rarely seen home and studio of world-renowned artist and textile designer Kaffe Fassett — and learn how to make her Ribbon quilt.

Your host Jenni Smith will share her personal tour of Kaffe’s “laboratory of color,” giving you a glimpse into his treasured collection of antique quilts, the studio where he creates his fabric designs, and the many vibrant rooms that make up this London jewel.

Then, from Jenni’s studio in Yorkshire, she’ll teach you how to make her unique Ribbon quilt, which was designed during her visit with Kaffe and celebrates a few of his favorite things — the Tumbling block, stripes, and flowers.

The two-day event will conclude with a live Q&A session with Kaffe and partner Brandon Mably, who will both be joining in the fun and sipping tea with Jenni and Kay.

This collaboration is brimming with color, energy, and in-depth conversations. Plus, it’s the perfect way to begin (and brighten) a new year!
