The Third Man (1949) - Movie Review

A classic movie review of the Carol Reed film noir The Third man (1949) starring Orson Welles, Joseph Cotten and Trevor Howard. Written by Graham Greene (who also wrote Brighton Rock and Ministry of Fear), its the story of a pulp novelist Holly Martins (played by Joseph Cotten) who travels to post-war Vienna, only to find himself investigating the mysterious death of his old friend, Harry Lime, played by Orson Welles.

From talking to Lime's associates Martins soon discovers that some of the stories are inconsistent, and determines to discover what really happened to Harry Lime. Along the way he learns some hard truths about the black market and how his old friend may have had a darker past than he thought...
