I love 0000 steel especially on windshield

Razor on glass is just asking for trouble. I'd skip that part. White 3M scotch pads are a better option IMO.

The best way to remove water spots, is chemically. Mechanical removal is always going to have the potential for more problems if you get it wrong. I would NEVER recommend a razor blade for water spots.

Claying the windshield is perfectly fine. It will remove larger surface contamination, baked on sap, etc.

Then the best option for water spot removal is to use a 0000 steel wool, with a 50:50 mixture of white vinegar and distilled water. The vinegar will break down the mineral and calcium deposits in the spots, the 0000 steel wool will provide the mechanical abrasive needed to sheer the spots off the window.

Anything more than that, is overkill, and is likely permanent damage to the windshield. Be careful with heavy abrasives like shower cleaners, as they have heavy polishing agents that will destroy paint, and chemicals that can discolor ABS plastics around your cowling and trim.

There are some gel based chemical water spot removers that are also very good. But that is a lot of extra money for a product that does the exact same thing as vinegar and water.

I've always just razored then used NuFinish. I also use it instead of wax/ceramic coatings. It's cheap, simple, fast, lasts a long time, and works really well. We use the same process on my Dad's 62' Chevy II and the paint still shines like the day it was cleared.

Microfiber pad with little heavy cut polishing compound works well.

Clay bar is more than efficient. Get a more aggressive bar if you have too. Clean and apply rain x and your good😮

I've seen razor blades for heavy contamination but mainly if the water spot remover doesn't remove the minerals fully its polishing time

Wouldn't polishing be a better option? Or is it more so a preference type thing

I used a table saw and had some minor issues, but turned out great in the end, now there’s no spots anywhere for water.

Hi love your videos. My question is for cleaning residue on my inside window. It’s always been there since I bought the car and I can’t get it off of used everything, so can you recommend some thing it’s like this thick stuff that won’t come off I can still see through the window but there’s like a haze on it. I would appreciate that. Thanks.

DO NOT USE A DRY RAZER BLADE ON YOUR GLASS

AS A WINDOW WASHER I HIGHLY RECOMEND AGAINST IT.

The problem is car windows are temperd and scratches really easily

Yes if your realy good you may not but all it takes is just a slight angle difference or un even serfece

Just don’t use Razer blades on the inside of the glass or you’ll scrape the tint off and steel wool might scratch the tint I’ve been to scared to see if it does

I use a product for removing water spot on glass. Rub it on for about 5 seconds, wipe it off. Gone.
