RICCI RIVERO SIDE STEPS TO SHOWBIZ IN A MOVIE DEBUT
UP recruit Ricci Rivero has finished shooting a full length movie while under residency in the UAAP.
Rivero stars in a horror movie entitled OTLUM together with some of the industry’s best actors : Jerome Ponce, John Estrada, Pen Medina, Buboy Villar, Irma Adlawan, Michelle Vito, Vitto Marquez, Kiray Celis, Vivoree Esclito, Jairus Aquino, Yñigo Delen and Danzel Fernandez. Produced by Horseshoe Studios and directed by Joven Tan.
A self-confessed local movie fan, Rivero said trying out acting is a gift to his supporters who had been requesting for him to just try it out.
“Perfect timing lang talaga itong OTLUM,
i received offers for acting projects since last year pero nagbe-beg off talaga kami kasi priority talaga ang commitment sa basketball both for my former team and sa Gilas. This time, we said yes kasi first yung Horseshoe assured us that theyll adjust the shooting schedule para wala po masagasaan na class and training schedule sa UP, inintay po nila makabalik ako from the UP Training Camp sa Serbia and matapos din commitments ko po sa Gilas Cadets tapos ayun nga i’m serving my 1 year residency pa so we decided to give it a go. Natapos ko yung movie on my free time.
Ricci Rivero emphasizes that his commitment with UP Basketball Team is on the top priority list and this new opportunity for him is not a “change court” but just a quick “side-step” like he is best known for.
