I was talking to 2 neighbors, one of them said something about me being a fan of Tesla to the other one, and she said, "What's a Tesla?" He said you're leaning against one. She had no idea there even was such a thing as an electric car. Self driving? 90% have no idea.

Talking to your car is a must and is so natural because unlike talking to your phone in public seems weird, you are in a private space.

Technology is changing at lightning speed. My 1st computer Apple II had 48k RAM $2000. My 1st laser printer HP IIP $2000+. T1 data line high speed was like 1Mb speed. Davong 5MB hard drive $2000. My first IBM XT computer with 10Mb hard drive 640k RAM $10, 000. Router $6000. We used to think rendering a 3D image in 6 hours was literally amazing. We were restricted from using calculators in college because it was unfair to those without. 1st cell phone was Motorola Flip phone l, the 1st phone which could fit in your shirt pocket $2500 '80s. A world unimaginable to the current generation. 🎉😮

Would be a missed opportunity not to have several Optimus bots walking in a Warner Brothers studio set.

One thing I think everyone is forgetting about the Warner Brothers studio lot with the robotaxi unveiling is that they need addresses assigned and destinations identified so a cybercab can pick up and drop off effectively during the demo. What they are Doing right now is setting up a bunch of fake addresses and named destinations on the movie lot and then they will assign riders with the app and bystanders with cameras and non robo taxi cars parked and driving amongst probably a dozen cyber cabs roaming around. That would be an effective demo with semi busy streets and just a touch of traffic chaos like a normal City would have

Around 30:00. Having a summon feature where the car goes to your phone is about convenience. One button done. If you want the car to go to a specific location takes more than one button. Separating them is good logic and makes the GUI more human.

I agree with Herbert that Robotaxi will likely be able to do the last feet, & agree with Nick that there's no need to partner with Uber, Lyft, etc.

I really love that Tesla is able to do in a few months what takes others YEARS. Reminds me of the big battery they put into Australia in 100 days (or it's FREE!). That's the kind of risk taking I like to see. Tesla's leaving others in the clear air way, way, behind the dust.

Holding the robotaxi launch in a film studio which has its own city with private roads makes perfect sense. Imagine a big budget movie being made of a 'distant' future where cars you buy don't need drivers only passengers, and they drive themselves. Where better for the first demonstration FSD (Unsupervised)

I understand the safety aspect of this. With this being very new, even just one little accident(the Tesla bumping a person in a parking lot) will set the average public confidence level back 10 steps. Even though it's still can be proven that it's safer than a person driving a car in the parking lot. People are just weird that way. I personally, I am convinced Telsa and FSD are going to be everywhere in a few years, just like the iPhone was adapted so will self driving. Kids growing up with this won't know any difference.

I agree. I think it will be as big of a game changer that the iPhone was. No steering wheel, just get in and talk to the car as it talks to you too, and it does what you tell it to do.
