Every time I decide to play some nation on my own and it doesn't go well, literally the next day Red Hawk makes guide to it, always xp

Just as a note, in that first war vs ottos you took a lot of AE because it wasn't a reconquest war (the ottos declared). Instead, you should take anatolian land for yourself and give byz cores in the following war, for a lot less AE.

Was just about to start an Aragon game. Perfect timing!

a tip: if you vassalize Navarra and then disinherit your heir, you don't get the PU but they stay your vassal.

28:40 In my current Granada->Andalusia game, France had fully annexed all of Burgundy. That was a juicy target to get a single province of and release for later reconquest.

I love your guides they're very thorough and I especially like that you temper expectations for players of different levels. It's pretty encouraging and honestly, I'm probably gunna give Aragon a try soon, using your guide of course. Still kinda new to EU4 and struggling that good ole' learning curve. Thank you very much for another excellent guide. I'd love to see a new guide for Kilwa, their my favorite nation, and with Origins, their new mission tree is pretty interesting and I haven't seen anyone else cover it yet.

Friendly reminder that to get Spain's missions, you need to culture shift away from Aragonese to Catalan. Spain's missions let you PU Austria and England.

I’m familiar with other Paradox games, but I’ve not really dived into EU4 yet. Watching you through this series has been both entertaining and informative!
Thank you very much. 👍🏻

You can actually throw in a No CB against an irish minor without any meaningful AE in your first 20 years and also be able to mess around in the british isles and keep england weak. very helpful if you want to be forming rome later

Aragon is my most played nation, And I gotta say this guide is pretty spot on <3. I didn't know the PU on Navarra still happened if they're your vassal the first time it happened. since then, if Castille doesnt rival me, I leave Navarra to them, With the Iberian Wedding, you still get Navarra because Castille annexes them really quick and you still get the mission without sacrificing your own diplo slot (and imo, an OPM doesn't make much of a difference when they calculate their power). If Castille rivals me.. oh boy.. I declare war (which will bring in Castille 99%% of the time) at which point LaMancha's gold is all yours. making Castille even more loyal down the road. (i don't form Spain, I manually integrate Castille to be able to form Italy).
not knocking your guide at all @The Red Hawk, I just wanna toss out my strat because we don't see an Aragon guide that often <3

Finding this extremely helpful. For someone who's been awful at this game and only played with command codes, I'm doing this as an Ironman mode and actually succeeding! Currently have Byz and Bulgaria as Vassals and about to get my gold mine!

I've learnt a lot from all your videos since following you. Thank you!

Thanks for making this! I was planning on doing an Aragon run and using your old guide for more of an advice piece but this is even better.

Hey, i just did an Aragon campaign! It was my first time playing them and also my first time restoring the Roman Empire. It really seemed way too easy.

edit: I took a slightly different route from this, mostly because I was able to get the Burgundian inheritance quite early, so I focused conquest in France and England before conquering a bunch of the balkans. Also, I was going for the Consulate of the Sea Achievement and thought I had to stay as Aragon to get it, so I didn't integrate Castile until just before the Age of Absolutism.

I always declare war on Nevarra or directly Castile, so I can snipe gold mine. I will get pu anyway :) it’s good to take Grenada monument myself too it gives nice bonuses. Oh and it’s good to form Italy instead of Spain

If you dont wanna no cb Byz you can also set Arta (Ephirus) as Province of vital interest on day one. That makes your subject Naples create a claim on them which they will do right away as long they re loyal. Conquer Ephirus which gives you a border with Byz. Get a claim and then vassalize them.
Worked well or me. The Ottomans were busy with their war against Candar and Karaman in the meantime. And Ephirus doesnt get good allies most of the time. In my case they even had Genoa. But sieging down Genoa didnt cost me too much time to loose the race against the Ottomans. They usually take their time until they declare their first war which almost always is against Candar and Karaman. So you dont need to rush for Byz as fast as possible.
