How to Download Other People's Instagram Stories

So I'm not sure I can think of a why you'd want to download someone else's story necessarily. Maybe you're a big fan of someone and want a keepsake? I don't know. But I did think it was super interesting that you even could save someone's story so figured I'd do a quick tutorial on how to do that for anyone who has a reason to or just wants to see how it's done.

Essentially, we're going to use one of two apps, one for iOS and one for Android.

Sorry if the iOS app is missing, seems Apple might have taken it down or it's not available in some countries. Search for it anyway and you'll find others that do the same thing.
Also, for those talking about using a screenshot, apparently Instagram is going to bring screenshot notifications to the platform soon so this will still allow you to get around that, as well as download videos and bulk download 👍

For business this is a nice feature. When someone gives you a testimonial or shares a product unboxing via stories, it's nice to be able to reshare what they've uploaded.

I have a decent/non-creepy reason! My band played our 2nd show last night, and when I saw that people had posted and tagged us in their stories, I wanted to share the clips to my story. But I was only able to post and therefore, save, a fraction of the longer videos that way. So thanks for making this!

thanks for the tip.. well as musician it's handy to take someone's stories, transcribe notes and remix it adding unison overdub, beat or even harmonising.

Not for creep purposes lol... my daughter has a private tumbling coach that shares live videos when the kids learn new tumbling skills. I don’t record my daughter on my phone during her private lessons, but I would like to have the videos. That’s why I would use this!

Well for me, after a theatre performance the videography team(??) would post an high quality (and really eye pleasing:") snippets of the play, because people were not allowed to record inside the building. They usually post it in stories and tag us, so we can share it too and get more people to be interested and recognize us, maybe even come to watch future plays and support us in future competitions:) Sorry for bad english.

I'm here cos AURORA posted an ig story today that really touched my heart and I want to save it to remind myself later. It's about how ppl keep commenting she has perfect skin and they wish they had the same but she says she gets pimples too they come and go like the seasons. There's no need to feel bad cos it's a part of life. It means so much to me as a chronic sufferer of acne 💜

Thanks for the answer to my question. As for the reasons why, let me give you mine: I want to create animated stickers out of videos in stories, but if I simply record my screen while playing the story it will also show the Instagram interface on top of the video. It seems to me that by using this app I can download the original video used for the story, without any UI interference on top. I will have to check it out.

I want to do this because someone filmed my brother drinking a whole bottle of beer in a single breath, like you would drink a shot, and this page with impressive drinking feats published it on their Stories. I wanna save it because this deserves to be preserved for posterity.

Reason I want to download someone else's stort: I was at a wine tasting with some newly made friends and didnt take any photos and videos but they did and I'd like a copy for myself. :)

I don't have a TIkTok. A person that I follow shared a hilarious TikTok that I would not have access to see otherwise and I wanted to have it saved and share it. I realize apps like this seem super malicious and probably are largely used with unfavorable consequences, but there are pure of heart purposes!
