Lol absolutely both.
Some things work better rolled, others work better folded.
And if I'm trying to prevent wrinkles, I lay out all my tops flat, stacked, smooth it out, and roll the stack around something else (like pants or a packable jacket) and just stuff the giant roll into whatever travel bag I'm using lol

So i just tested this for myself. I think because my size is extra large, the fold worked better for almost all my clothes with the exception of my bras. Lol. Rolling was far bulkier even using my Tripped compression cubes.
