Try using jump attacks instead of normal ones whenever you can, this allows you to break his poise a couple of times during the fight to inflict extra dmg

If anyone is struggling super badly with the hammer slam, you have to time your roll to where you are in the air when it hits the ground

You can find a certain merchant and buy Margit’s shackle for 5000 runes to pin this boss to the ground a few times. It makes the fight a lot easier.

The most important advice: Jellyfish is actually a fantastic summon, at least in the early game. The most important thing summons can do is hold aggro, and the jellyfish is fantastic at doing it thanks to the high health and ranged attacks. I hope my boy stays useful past Limgrave, but I imagine the enemy damage is going to outscale him :, (

This boss is considerably eaiser for ranged character. Melee is somehwat harder in phase 2.

Another way of avoiding the long windup attack at 1:08 is to dodge forwards beside him where the weapon is and when your at his back he will do a 360 which you have to roll through and after that you can get about 1-2 hits on him if your melee

For sword wielders, equip Ash of War: Bloody Slash on your weapon. This makes the fight 100x easier.
