After I got saved, I heard some people griping about Peter Ruckman. Why, one wonders, when his main aim was to defend our perfect King James Bible? I was a missionary raising support and I determined not to bother with what others said and find out for myself. I visited this Church several times, and met Peter several times in other locations. Being a King James man, I had no reason to argue with him. Anyway, I found him to be a very friendly man, and throughly enjoyed all my encounters with him. I deliberately avoided doctrinal discussions with him: I was no pop star fan. I had breakfast with him a couple of times when we were both at a revival he was conducting in central Alabama in 1997. One day, he took me around a WW II museum that had various bits of equipment. Being of German descent, he was very interested in that material.

I am very grateful to have known this man, who was, as Robert said recently, one of the best Bible teachers ever. If you disagree with him on some minor points, just move on and forget about it. No two preachers agree on everything.

I am also grateful for having known another great preacher, Art Wilson.
