I had a doctor ask me "How long are you trying to live?" While chuckling at me. I said "I'm trying to ensure quality of life". Smh

“Bro wellness” is such a fitting term! I, for one, am not willing to choose between longevity and health. Both/and for the win! 🎉

As the wife of a disabled veteran: my goal is to stay as healthy as I can so I can continue to take care of my husband. He needs me: mentally & physically. My hormone replacement allows me to do that.

I don't know how long I'm going to live so the idea of "living longer" is irrelevant. I'd like to live a healthy life no matter how long or short that may be.

HEALTHIER! I’m so blessed to have contact with doctors who specialize in post menopause. HRT improved my life. Healthy foods improved my life. Daily exercise improved my life. No alcohol improved my sleep. Morning sunlight improved my sleep. Praise Jesus, He saved my life!

QUALITY vs quantity….i want a better quality of life. I don’t necessarily want to live longer.., .especially if it means experiencing the total body pain, anxiety, depression, hair loss etc etc that I have been experiencing these past two years. I’d gladly give up a few years of my life in exchange for a pain-free and better quality of life. Perimenopause is miserable especially if you have underlying autoimmune health conditions and none of the doctors want to spend any time hearing you out, while others are completely honest and admit that they don’t know how hormones tie into everything

Quality, healthy... I've already outlived my mother's age, and in a year and a half, I will be my grandmother's final age.
I want more, but only if I can be healthy.

Both! We want our high quality of life, our good health, mobility and brain function, to extend for as long as possible.

Both! But definitely healthy gives a better quality of life. The past 3 generations on my maternal side have had dementia (mother too) I am the only one who is using HRT and have a significant lifestyle change than they did.I sure hope these things will change my trajectory in old age!

At age 75, I definitely work at living a healthy lifestyle. My grandmother and mother both lived to their 90s, but both had dementia in their latter years.

My mom's mom died at 107, still pretty with it at 100 (arthritis, macular degeneration). My mom is almost 94 with a bum knee, but mostly healthy. Hereditarily, I'm like them. I'm 61 & living to 100+. My motto is moderation. I think I can live long & in good health

Healthier for me! I don't want more years. Just let me be as vibrant as I can for the years I'm on this earth, however long that may be.

Helping my 85+ yo parents the last 4 years while their mobility, cognition, stamina & overall health has declined has me terrified of the same trajectory as I get older too, especially as I have no partner to shift responsibilities to & do not want to unreasonably burden my daughter just because I failed to proactively take care of my health as I aged. And after excellent health for 55 years, I herniated a disc that gave me chronic pain for a year which was miserable. Based on these experiences, HEALTH over longevity any day.

Healthier!! My mom died with all the major issues of diabetes, heart disease and dementia. I Started out on the hrt journey a year ago and still haven’t gotten the right amount to at least stop the hot flashes. Next step is Dutch test for more in-depth look into my hormones.
