I liked that he called in Busio. He's been solid in Italy to start the season

With Poch I think he just doesn't want to rock the boat too much right now and see what he can get out of these guys, i know it's a friendly but if he takes them to Mexico and wins, he'll instantly become a hero in the US, tactically Poch's tactics are usually quite simple but he demands intensity, it'll help younger players (he won't overcomplicate things for them, "this is your job, go out and do it") not being overly bombarded by powerpoints

We have so many injuries. This is the best we can do, even with this defense lol

If you want to be fair you have your own goalkeeper coach, evaluation who or what he has to work with. So yeah bring in the good, the bad & the ugly. Then you say thanks & good luck with your future plans.

The US does not have the depth for the roster to change much. Unfortunately Reyna is injured, it would be good to see him with the new coach.

I haven’t been this excited since back when Christian Pulisic first joined the team.

I think many people were hoping that Coach Pochettino would be able to bring some new players that had escaped the attention of US Soccer. If you recall, when Klinsmann took the wheel, he went all over Europe and found new players with American ties that had never played for the United States before. Jermaine Jones springs to mind. It’s early, so maybe Pochettino will also do that at some point. My fingers are crossed.

We know the core group and you cant blame someone from the outside bringing in guys to look at again. The main thing we need from this first camp is to get the mentally straight. Let the guys share with the ones that couldn't make it that the atmosphere will be different and everyone needs to step up. I am excited about this new era

I like how you mentioned the 4-2-3-1 formation and how he may have a player ( Arronson is good example, but likely someone else) at 10 and playing on/off with striker. You mentioned how he used Dele there, the perfect role for Dele as hybrid striker. Hopefully Poch csn identify which player could play that role, giving a 2nd scoring threat with striker. And of course the wingers. I’m not sure who could be the midfielder who’s free to roam as Eriksen & DiMaria were to find open spaces to create chances in box or take shot themselves!
* So many questions: but we’ll see as all eyes 👀 will be on his 1st 2 games vs Panama & Mexico. While he’s trying to establish his philosophy, we all know it’s not club football, and National teams only have small amount of time together a year. Choosing players that are playing for their club is likely due to them being match-fit! Little time prevents Having 3-4 training sessions a day to prepare players to run & press for 90+ min!

USA 3-0 Panama
USA 1-1 Mexico - Even with Poch, Mexico will definitely make it difficult for USA. Sorry, I just can't see USA beating Mexico in Guadalajara.

I think the most important thing right now is to give Poch time to learn the players so he can put them in the best possible position for them to succeed.

He had a great opportunity to bring in Lennard Maloney to test out as a center back in this depleted roster. Yes, Maloney operates typically as a defensive mid with Heidenheim, but he has played CB and has the size and toughness for it. Hey, the guy plays 90 min in a top 5 (I'd say top 3 actually) league and has been a key piece in Heidenheim's rise in Bundesliga. We desperately need to find depth and talent in the back line. So, what I learned is that Poch hasn't really had the chance to fully scope out the player pool yet. Otherwise we'd bring in some outside the box (inside the box lol?) new blood like Lennard instead of continuing to invest in Ream, M. Robinson, and Trusty.

Re: similar roster…how many US players on (senior/first) teams in the top 5 leagues were not called in (not hurt…)? Tessman, Pefok, ??? If Poch finds other guys (not in Top 5 leagues) who are “diamonds in the rough” where are they going to come from? Uxx USMNT teams? Recruited dual nats? Where else? I would be very interested in a pod/YT of “maybe on the radar” players. Seems like every position is a position of need for USMNT right now…we don’t have solid starters + 1 reserve depth at any position do we? Hoping for some Poch magic…

Same usual group of player not much change, Tactical i am give Pochetino's ten game to implement his style and the team playing up to high tempo to the level like most of the bigger team in the world, you all gonna cut him loose, cause after that we just wasting money ..
