Mart Friedman is way more than a metal shredder. Absolutely a legend all around. Even blues guys know who he is.

I've always considered Metallica's music as "easier to consume", and Megadeth as being music for musicians. And while there's nothing like seeing Metallica live, I get so much joy from watching Dave and crew rip through songs from this album.

Holy Wars has widely been considered one of the greatest metal songs ever recorded.

The word "megadeth" is used to describe an event killing one million people. It's a term used to describe the affect of a nuclear bomb. Dave read it on the bus ride from New York back to LA after being fired from Metallica. He wrote a song, originally called Megadeth, but eventually took to the name for the band and renamed the song 'Set the World Afire.'

Two songs you will eventually need to react to are, 'In My Darkest Hour' and 'Good Mourning/Friday Friday'. Two classic Megadeth songs off two different albums. The first four albums had three different lead guitarists and three different drummers. Each of their styles are different and is reflected in the early Megadeth sound. 'In My Darkest Hour' is a heavy metal melodic whirlwind. 'Good Mourning...' begins slow and builds to a frenzy.

Dave does the last solo for sure.

Tornado of Souls from this album is also great, and one of Marty’s best solos.

Yes, Black Sabbath

The arpeggios in the intro are Dave
The last solo is Dave
Everything else is Marty
Lucretia is awesome off this album, very jazzy licks and feel
Hell the whole album has very unique songs that haven't been topped imo

FIVE MAGICS!!! It has a syncopated part which I’m sure he will be impressed by!! You wont regret it

Dave is jagged, angry, and angular. Lots of chromatic stuff. Marty is fluid and melodic. Pretty.

Marty is not only the best "shredder" of that era (even thought he doesn't like the shredders) but he has the ability to be melodic and expressive at the same time when playing a fucking complex solo... that is the reason why he has THE BEST metal solo ever "Tornado of Souls"😉

Mustaine might not have the best voice, but it’s unique and fits the music perfectly

Fun fact: this song it's made up of two distinct parts The first one is inspired by a big fight between loyalists and separatists in the crowd during a gig in Ireland, in the latest '80s, started because a dumb political comment. Infatct, when Mustaine sings "fools like me, who cross the sea, and come to foreign lands, ask the sheep, for their beliefs..." he's talking about himself. The second part is inspired by The Punisher, the Marvel's comics book character (Sorry for my bad english, i'm italian )

Richard is absolutely correct, Mustaine singing while playing this song is nothing short of incredible. Even the "groovy part" he's singing behind the beat, and syncopated, and singing triplets. It's all amazing.

It’s uncanny how much I enjoy Judson’s take on music. Love this channel.

Marty plays the complicated and very tasty exotic modal solos and Dave does the face melting, warp speed solos. You can hear the differences in them.

Rust in peace truly is one of the greatest thrash records.

80s and 90s, we peaked there for me in music....especially metal

I probably had listened this song above 200 times. It always surprises me some new detail never noticed before. IMHO one of the five best constructed metal pieces in history. Has a lot of harmonic and rhytmic variations all of them well linked and extremely well played. Dave's voice was on point and communicated really deep emotions. The lyrics are fierce and the floor built by Menza and Ellefson is just out of this planet. On top of all that you got a true guitar god like Marty Friedman. It can't be other than a masterpiece. Next level.
